Abstract: Following September 11, 2001, most facility managers and their companies and agencies have developed a special intensity in their emergency preparedness efforts. Other facility managers may have been more motivated by the preparations required by the approach to Y2K. The crisis on September 11 and Y2K followed completely different scenarios, but both cried out for comprehensive emergency preparedness management, and each actively involved facility managers. It is indisputable that no facility manager can ignore emergency preparedness
