Abstract

Electrical and lighting design is a crucial aspect of building services engineering, as it involves the planning and implementation of electrical systems and lighting solutions in buildings. Proper electrical and lighting design ensures safety, energy efficiency, and functionality within a structure. This eBook aims to provide guidance to Polytechnic students who are taking the DCB50233 Building Services Design course specifically on the topic of electrical and lighting design for buildings. This book contains four main chapters namely Chapter 1 Introduction to lighting, Chapter 2 Lighting Design, Chapter 3 Introduction to building electrical system, and Chapter 4 Building electrical system design. It is hoped that this book will enhance the students’ knowledge especially in designing a proper interior lighting layout for a room or building based on required standard.
