A NEW APPROACH TO CONTROLLING A HYDRAULIC INDIRECT ELEVATOR WITH A VARIABLE‑SPEED PUMP See

The paper describes a new approach to the issue of controlling an indirect elevator with a bidirectional variable-speed pump and a simple controller based on the position sensor. The aim of this paper is to present a method of controlling the speed of the elevator to ensure smooth movement and proper positioning of the car on the floor, regardless of its load and ropes rigidity. The main feature of the proposed solution is the use of a frequency inverter in vector mode to control the speed of...

A PERIDYNAMICS APPROACH TO FLEXIBLE MULTIBODY DYNAMICS FOR FRACTURE ANALYSIS OF MECHANICAL SYSTEMS See

The classical theory of continuum mechanics is formulated using partial differential equations (PDEs) that fail to describe structural discontinuities, such as cracks. This limitation motivated the development of peridynamics, reformulating the classical PDEs into integral-differential equations. In this theory, each material point interacts with its neighbours inside a characteristic length-scale through bond-interaction forces. However, while peridynamics can simulate complex multi-physics ...

COUPLED FLUID‑STRUCTURE SIMULATION OF A FLAPPING WING USING FREE MULTIBODY DYNAMICS SOFTWARE See

Computer simulations offer invaluable insights into fluid-structure interaction phenomena, increasing our understanding of complex behaviors within fluid flows and enabling predictions of consequential effects. This paper explores flapping wing simulation using an original toolchain based on free software. The structural domain is modeled using multibody dynamics, interfaced with arbitrary fluid dynamics solvers through a general-purpose multiphysics coupling library. The proposed toolchain i...

AUTOMATION AND EQUIPMENT OPTIMIZATION STRATEGIES ENHANCING PRODUCTIVITY IN LARGE SCALE CONSTRUCTION OPERATIONS See

Purpose – This study examines automation and equipment optimization strategies that enhance productivity in large-scale construction operations. It explores how robotics, artificial intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT), and data-driven equipment management improve operational efficiency and project outcomes. Design/methodology/approach – A conceptual analytical approach is adopted, supported by empirical findings from prior studies. The study synthesizes research evidence on automation...

OPTIMIZING GEOSPATIAL ALIGNMENT THROUGH PARTICIPATORY CAMPUS POSITIONING ASSESSMENTS ENHANCING INFRASTRUCTURE ADAPTABILITY OUTCOMES See

The increasing complexity of campus environments has intensified the need for accurate geospatial alignment to support infrastructure planning, navigation, accessibility, and sustainable development. Participatory campus positioning assessments have emerged as an effective approach for integrating stakeholder perspectives with geospatial technologies to improve the quality of infrastructure related decision-making. This study explores the role of participatory positioning assessments in optim...

FEATURE TOKENIZER TRANSFORMER BASED ADVANCED DEEP LEARNING METHOD FOR PREDICTION OF THE BEARING CAPACITY OF BRANCHED PILES ON PEAT See

Peat is regarded as one of the most complex category of soil, in terms of construction, owing to its very soft and highly compressible nature. Thus, in order to overcome shortcomings of peat, deep foundations are most commonly adopted to transfer load through soft deposits to harder strata. However, such techniques may be uneconomical, particularly for low to medium-rise structures, pavements, embankments, and other lightly loaded critical infrastructures. This shortcoming is of particular co...

SUSTAINABLE MANAGEMENT AND OPTIMIZATION OF WATER-RESOURCE USE IN THE KARST AREAS OF HERZEGOVINA See

The problem of water resource scarcity and water supply in karst areas is significant and still insufficiently researched. Management of water resources is particularly demanding due to the high spatial and temporal variability of available water. The area of Herzegovina belongs to the Dinaric karst, one of the most developed karst regions in Europe. This paper analyzes the problem of sustainable water resource management in karst areas under climate change conditions, with particular referen...

ANALYSIS ON THE EMPOWERMENT OF INTERNATIONALIZED VOCATIONAL EDUCATION CERTIFICATION TO TALENTS' INTERNATIONAL INTERDISCIPLINARY SCIENCE AND INNOVATION See

Driven by global industrial integration and the Belt and Road Initiative, interdisciplinary science and innovation has become a core reform direction for modern vocational education. International vocational certification serves as a vital bridge linking domestic training systems with global industrial standards. This study adopts literature research and logical reasoning methods to explore the internal logic, practical dilemmas and empowerment paths of international vocational certification ...

THE ISTEM ROPE MODEL: DEFINING INTEGRATED EARLY CHILDHOOD STEM EDUCATION AND ITS PEDAGOGICAL LINAGES TO THE REGGIO EMILIA-INSPIRED APPROACH See

This paper discusses the implementation of integrated science, technology, engineering and mathematics (EC-iSTEM) education with children in birth-to-age 5 classrooms. It offers a conceptualization for EC-iSTEM, as well as a developmental trajectory in the form of the iSTEM Rope Model. It further highlights the intersection of EC-iSTEM education and the Reggio Emelia-Inspired Approach (RE-IA) as a lens for both viewing EC-iSTEM implementation with young children and as an area of needed resea...
