Abstract: | This study explores the acceptance and use of electronic circuit simulation software among electronics students, teachers, and graduates, focusing on user interface design and computer literacy. Using the extended technology acceptance model and surveying 427 electronics enthusiasts in Cebu, Philippines. The study finds that the user interface design positively affects the perceived usefulness and ease of use of electronic circuit simulators. On the other hand, computer literacy positively affects perceived usefulness and ease of use. Additionally, the study shows that perceived ease of use directly affects attitude towards using the software, behavioral intention to use and actual system use. The results suggest that integrating innovative technologies like electronic circuit simulation software in teaching basic electronics is essential in enhancing the quality of education and producing competent graduates in the field. The study provides implications for theory and practice in vocational/technical education, especially in teaching electronics circuit designing in the applied electronics curriculum. Lastly, we put forward valuable insights into the curricular integration of ECS in teaching basic electronics, especially in developing economies. |
